WinslowHi! I am Winslow and am I ever a lucky boy!! Back on March 26, 2011 my mom, auntie and I were rescued by two caring BAPS personnel. Can you imagine that someone had just duct-taped us up in a box and left us outside in the cold? I was the only surviving kitten from my litter and even at that just barely fought through the struggles thrown my way. My mom was too young and didn’t even know what to do with me! That’s when I met my foster mom, Serena. She took great care of me. I know I was high maintenance with being a preemie (I was the length of a human thumb!), but she did everything for me and because of her I am here today to tell you my story! She bottle fed me every hour for the first month and a half of my life and when she was busy working at the shelter my Auntie (now my furrever mom) would help take care of me. There were times where I felt like I couldn’t fight anymore because of the infections, my stage three heart murmur and my under-developed internal organs, but the tears on my foster mom and furrever mom’s faces, made me determined to live. I was behind on all sorts of normal kitten development, often weeks behind, but my motto is that all good things come in time, right? I am proof of that! I just celebrated my 5th birthday and boy oh boy am I ever loved! I not only have my two fur siblings, but I have two little people to call my own! My human brothers LOVE me! I have been doing great aside from having some tumors in my mouth removed (they were benign) and having the majority of my teeth removed. Who really needs teeth anyway?! I still eat hard food and am in fact the “fluffiest” of my siblings! Mom seems worried about this, but I just say that there is more of me to love! I am so lucky and thankful for the second chance at life that BAPS and their staff gave me!
