What We Do
We are More than a Shelter.
At the Brooks Animal Protection Society, we are more than a shelter. We understand that the only way we can create a future with no more homeless, abused or neglected animals is to create a more compassionate future. This is why we dedicate ourselves to finding forever homes for our animals, as well as educating the public on responsible pet ownership.
Animals that arrive at BAPS are first held in our quarantine area for both the safety of them as well as our current adoptable pets. If brought in as a stray, we allow seven days for the animal to be claimed before it belongs to BAPS. We pride ourselves in taking the best care possible for all animals under our roof. Our incredible foster parents and volunteers allow us to provide extra TLC to the animals that need it most (i.e. orphan kittens or puppies, injured animals, etc.). When a pet is ready to say hello to a forever family our adoption coordinators are ready to create successful matches using interviews and pet-to-pet interactions where required.
A Lifetime of Support.
At Brooks Animal Protection Society our commitment to pets does not end the moment they leave to their forever homes. We are only an e-mail or phone call away to assist with an behavior support. Looking for some fun and education for the two-legged family members? We offer birthday parties, in-school visits, field trips, and day camps and even to help spread the message of compassion, empathy and respect for all living things.
Adopting a pet can be the most rewarding thing you can do…both for you and our furry friends.
